#2 copper is copper piping and thin strands of copper wiring. It is considered #2 if it has paint on it, heavily oxidized, or solder. All copper can not contain any other type of metal or contaminates on it.

Sheet copper is old and new. Old contains a lot of oxidation. New sheet copper has very minimal oxidation.

Copper Transformer is a transformer that only contains copper windings.

Aluminum copper transformer contains two windings. One of them is aluminum and the other is copper.

Sealed units contain copper windings and electric motors in a steel shell. The oil must be drained.

Low grade electric motors contain a large amount of extra material on it.
Large Electric motors and Electric motors don't contain as much extra material.

Alternators are attached to an engine to generate electricity to recharge the battery.

Starters are small electric motors found in vehicles and equipment that start the engine.

Ballasts are small metal boxes found mainly in lighting fixtures. They contain copper components.

Copper turnings are small shavings or spiral chips of copper.
Copper Wire

MCM is large industrial and commercial cable. It contains thick copper and a large diameter.

#1 ICW is wiring with the least amount of insulation and thicker copper strands. It is mostly found inside the copper sheathing of Romex.

#2 ICW is communication cable (Cat 5 and 6) and wiring harnesses. It contains fine copper wiring inside the insulation.

#3 ICW is extension cords, appliance cords, and thicker miscellaneous insulated copper wire.
